Dr. Ilay Maden DMD, MSc, PhD studied dentistry and did his PhD studies for

periodontology at the University of Istanbul. He has received his Master of Science

degree for Lasers in Dentistry from Aachen University, Germany.

Dr. Ilay Maden is the co-director, lecturer and trainer of Seesaw Dental Education and

representative of Aachen Dental Laser Centre (AALZ), Aachen University, Germany

and World Federation for Laser Dentistry (WFLD) in the United Kingdom. He is also an

Adjunct Faculty Member, thesis co-advisor and examiner at AALZ, an expert lecturer

for Laser and Health Academy (LAHA), a lecturer for German Association of Oral

Implantology, Dental Online College by Deutscher Ärzte-Verlag and a training

instructor for International Continuing Education Centre for Dental Implants; - IFZI,

Nurnberg, Germany.

Dr. Maden is currently authoring the Lasers in Periodontics chapter for the updated

version of Evidence Based Dentistry on Laser Dentistry edited by Prof Dr Gutknecht.

In addition to being on the editorial board of The International Magazine of Laser

Dentistry, Asnan Portal, ProDentalCPD, Journal of Laser and Health Academy and

Lasers in Dental Science, he is also a member of the editorial board for Lasers in

Medical Science; one of the leading international journals in the field of medical

applications of lasers and light in the Science Citation Index (Impact Factor:2.4). His

work has been published internationally in Journal of Periodontology, International

Journal of Medical Sciences, The International Magazine of Laser Dentistry, Journal of

Laser and Health Academy, Cosmetic Dentistry and Hindawi Publishing Corporation.

He has been the principal dentist in a private dental practice where he has been

performing laser supported implantology and periodontal treatments between 2005

and 2016, in Istanbul while being based in the UK half time. Upon successfully

completing the overseas registration exams in the UK in 2016, he is now based in the

UK full time.
